Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces dismissal of one felony charge against Adam Jones

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced that the one felony charge, Harassment with a Bodily Substance (Felony 5), pending against Adam Jones has been dismissed at the request of the prosecuting attorney.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office is in receipt of a letter from Adam Jones’ treating physician which indicates that Mr. Jones is doing well in treatment.  No further information on Mr. Jones’ treatment will be released by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The Hamilton County Justice Center nurse who is the subject of the felony charge has been pursuing civil remedies against Mr. Jones.  The criminal charge will not be pursued given a possible civil remedy.

The 3 other charges pending against Mr. Jones, Obstructing Official Business (Misdemeanor 2), Disorderly Conduct (Misdemeanor 4), and Assault (Misdemeanor 1) will be referred to the Hamilton County Municipal Court.  Since these offenses occurred in Cincinnati, they will be prosecuted by the City of Cincinnati’s Prosecutor’s office.
