The Children’s Services Division of the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office provides legal services and legal representation to Hamilton County’s Department of Job and Family Services, which is the agency charged with protecting children from abuse, neglect and other dangerous situations.

The fifteen Assistant Prosecutors and six support staff members of the Children’s Services Division work alongside case workers and service providers with a goal of seeking the best possible outcomes for the children of Hamilton County. For most cases, this means providing services to parents and caregivers to ensure prompt reunification of families. For other cases, this means seeking permanent placement of children in loving, supportive homes. Regardless of case or circumstance, the attorneys of the Children’s Services Division are present in court every single day to help protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

In addition to litigation responsibilities, attorneys from the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office are also available around the clock for legal advice in situations where the safety a child cannot wait for normal business hours. The Assistant Prosecutors of the division also attend regular meetings and work collaboratively with various stakeholders in the Juvenile Court system to ensure that the goal of stronger families and safer children is being met.

If you suspect a child is being abused, is neglected, or is in some other dangerous situation, please call the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services at 513-241-KIDS (5437).
