Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the murder indictment of Joshua Gibson (DOB 01/26/1987) for the August 24th murder of Page Ashly Loree Jones.  Gibson is now charged with 2 counts of Murder (Special Felony) with gun specifications and 1 count of Weapon Under Disability (Felony 3).  If convicted of all charges, he faces 18 years to life in prison.

On August 24th at approximately 10:00 p.m. Gibson drove into a parking lot in the 3500 block of Burnet Avenue where other people were gathered.  Gibson began talking with Miss Jones’ girlfriend and then got into a physical fight with Miss Jones.  Gibson pushed Miss Jones’ head into a car and shot her multiple times. Miss Jones was transported by private vehicle to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The police arrived on the scene after ShotSpotter detected multiple gunshots in the area.  When the police arrived, Miss Jones had already been taken to the hospital and Gibson had fled the scene. The police found the car Gibson was driving, still at the scene with the engine still running.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters commented, “This has been a terrible period of gun violence for our community but we must never become numb to it. Each case is tragic, and each new victim leaves yet another family heartbroken and devastated by the senseless act of violence.

My goal as your Hamilton County Prosecutor is to keep our community a safe place to live.  I will continue to work with the police and community to do whatever we can to reduce gun violence and maintain the quality of life we expect and enjoy in this community.”
