Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announces the Murder Indictment of Antonio Wilcox

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of Antonio Wilcox (DOB 7/15/84) for the murders of Michelle McDonald and Aaliyah McCoy. Wilcox is charged with one count of Aggravated Murder (SF), one count of Murder (SF), one count of Felonious Assault (F2), one count Involuntary Manslaughter (F1), and one count of Having Weapons Under Disability (F3). If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.

On July 16, 2021, while at a family party, Wilcox approached Michelle McDonald from behind and shot her once in the back of the head. McDonald, who was 8 ½ months pregnant with Aaliyah, died immediately. McDonald was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and medical professionals were able to deliver Aaliyah, and the child was placed on life support until she succumbed to her injuries as a result of the shooting a day later.

Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters commented, “I am devastated for this family. I cannot even imagine the gut-wrenching pain this loss has caused.

Unfortunately, the life lead by Wilcox is becoming more common and acceptable. This would have been his fourth child with four different women. DNA testing is still pending on Aaliyah.

This woman was executed by Wilcox, knowing she was 8 ½ months pregnant. She was treated like garbage and so was the baby.

This is pathetic, unacceptable, and obscene.”
