Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announces Indictment related to dog attack on Police Officer
Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced the indictment of Darryl Stowers, who is accused of allowing his dog to attack a Cincinnati Police Officer.
Darryl Stowers, 26, of 100 Craft Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45232, was indicted on a charge of felonious assault stemming from the dog attack and he was indicted on two additional misdemeanor charges of assault and resisting arrest related to accusations that he harmed a woman, which is why police sought to question him. (Case number B2501519 and case number B2501673)
On March 29, 2025 just before 1 a.m. Cincinnati Police Officers were dispatched to 100 Craft Street for shots fired. A female at the address advised officers Stowers hit her with a gun. Officers saw visible injuries to the woman’s ear.
When two officers attempted to detain Stowers, he ran on foot into the house, where there were three dogs. The dogs attacked the officers. Officer William Goetz tackled Stowers and Goetz was bit on the calf by one of the dogs. Goetz tried to mace the dog, but it did not work, prompting Goetz to kick the dog to an attempt to protect himself.
“The officers responded to a woman who needed help,”
said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich.
“We’re thankful that the officer was not more seriously hurt. It is unacceptable this officer was attacked while trying to protect citizens.”
