On June 6, 2024, Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Powers was honored to attend the ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Captain Phil H. Bucklew Veteran and Military Family Center at Xavier University. Bucklew was a 1936 Xavier University graduate and is considered the father of the modern US Navy SEALS. He also participated in the D-Day landing at Normandy, France. Powers was proud to show her support of past, present, and future veterans in Hamilton County.
