Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich announced charges in a hit-and-run assault that left a pedestrian seriously injured.
Jamila Hobbs, 34, of College Hill, was indicted on charges of vehicular assault and failure to stop after an accident on March 12 at 4 p.m. Hobbs faces up to two and one-half years in prison.
On March 12, Hobbs was driving a Kia Sorrento north on Main Street in Downtown Cincinnati when she changed lanes in the 900 block and hit the 40-year-old victim who was walking east across Main Street. Hobbs fled the scene.
The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken tailbone, broken ankle, and concussion.
“Pedestrian safety is the right of everyone who lives, works, and visits Downtown,”
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich said.
“I urge people to slow down and use care. And when they don’t, as in cases like this, they will be prosecuted.”
