The facts in this case indicate that the defendant murdered Linda Hoberg on August 25, 1990. Apparently, the defendant and Ms. Hoberg had met at a bar and left together one the bar closed. A videotape shows Ms. Hoberg running into a Shell Service Station located in Miamitown, Ohio at approximately 3:04 a.m.

The videotape captures Ms. Hoberg running behind the service counter in the gas station and the defendant running after her. The defendant then grabbed Ms. Hoberg by the arm, threw her over his shoulder, and then forced her into a car.

This same car was found burned and Ms. Hoberg’s skeletal remains were found inside. The defendant later confessed to killing Ms. Hoberg and then setting the car on fire.

Due to the fact that this defendant was sentenced to life in prison, this office opposes and will continue to oppose the early release of such a dangerous criminal.
