Hamilton County Prosecutor announces the Indictment of Antonio Wofford

Today, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters announced the indictment of Antonio Wofford (DOB 2/13/90). Wofford was indicted for one count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide (F2), one count of Vehicular Manslaughter (M1), and one count of Aggravated Vehicular Assault (F3).  If convicted, he faces a maximum possible sentence of 15 years in prison.

On March 4, 2022, Colerain Township police observed Wofford operating a vehicle on Colerain Avenue at a high rate of speed. Officers observed Wofford run multiple red lights.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but prior to catching up with the suspect; Wofford ran a third red light, crashing into Ronald Washington’s vehicle. Washington was driving with his passenger, Isaiah McBride. Washington attempted to make a left- hand turn on Colerain Avenue when Wofford ran the red light and struck the driver-side door of Washington’s car.

Washington, despite wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. McBride, Washington’s passenger, was seriously injured in the accident and remains hospitalized.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters commented, “My heart breaks for the families of these victims. I can’t imagine having a loved one taken from you in such a senseless, selfish act.

These victims could have been any of us – traveling home after breakfast with a friend – and had the misfortune of coming upon Antonio Wofford. The callousness it takes to disregard human life in this way is hard to understand.”
